A New Studio Space + Valentine’s Details at Catie K Photography


One of my favorite parts of this winter has been quietly building something new behind the scenes — and I’m so excited to finally share it.


The Catie K Photography studio in Clark, South Dakota, is officially open, and it’s designed to feel calm, flexible, and timeless. A space that works just as well for families and seniors as it does for photographers looking for a clean indoor option during the colder months.


A Sweet Valentine’s Setup (Limited Time)


For February, the studio features a Valentine’s setup with a pink heart backdrop that feels playful while still staying soft and photo-forward.


This setup is perfect for:


  • Valentine’s minis
  • Kids portraits
  • Sibling or cousin photos
  • Anyone wanting a seasonal touch without it feeling overdone


The Valentine’s setup will be available for a limited time and pairs beautifully with neutrals, soft pinks, reds, and creams.


Paper Backdrops Available


The studio also offers paper backdrops for sessions that need a clean, classic look. Currently available colors include:

These backdrops work well for:

They’re intentionally neutral so the focus stays on the people in front of the camera.


The Lifestyle Corner


One of my favorite areas of the Catie K Photography studio is the lifestyle corner, designed to feel natural and relaxed rather than overly styled.


This space includes:


  • An ottoman-style couch
  • A neutral palette that photographs beautifully
  • An olive tree that adds warmth and texture


It’s ideal for relaxed family sessions, milestones, and storytelling-style images.
